Project Silver Feather: A Bitfenix Shinobi Mod

Hi all,
This is my second computer build in a bitfenix shinobi case, the first one currently housing my gaming rig, and I can't say enough about how great of a case it is. My plans for this build will be the following:

Hardware:
i5 2500k
EVGA 670 FTW
Gigabyte Z68XP UD3P Mobo
Corsair HX 850 watt PSU
Mushkin Chronos 120gb SSD
Mushkin 16gb Ram
Silverstone slot loading dvd drive
320gb Seagate 2.5" Hard Drive

Water Cooling:
EX 280 mm XSPC rad in the top,
EX 240 mm XSPC rad in the front,
Raystorm CPU water block
Razor GTX 680 GPU water block
D5 pump and Dual Bay res,
All bitfenix spectre pro fans
Blue Tubing ( Subject to possible change)
Silver Compression Fittings

Other Hardware:
Bitfenix Alchemy LED strips
UV cathodes
8 channel fan controller

This is my first attempt into liquid cooling and case modding so hopefully all goes well.

The plan with the case will be to run a single loop system cooling the cpu and gpu, a hidden slot loading dvd drive, a custom cut window, and possibly a custom sheet metal shell depending on the material available to me.

Here's everything fitted rad wise so far. I will upload a few pictures of how I did it in the next few days.

Update time:

So undertaking the 280 in the roof posed the most for the modding. First I drilled out the rivets and popped off the top so that it was easier to work on. The problem with putting the rad on the top meant that one set of the fan holes had to be moved forward, and also 2 pass-through holes had to be made for the fittings and tubing to pass through.

Beginning of the initial markings for the fittings and extending of the fan holes

Everything all marked out

Finished top panel

and Fits just right

So after the top panel was cut and placed back on top of the case, I realized one of the stability bars would interfere with the fittings passing through the top

No worries, just had to pop out the rivets and move it back a view cm

Now the top radiator is fully positioned and ready to be mounted on. Time to deal with the front 240 rad.

Like the top 280 rad, the spacing for the 2 front fans was spaced just a bit apart to accommodate the radiator so I had to file down the holes so that the screws could pass through.

Not cutting out the front honeycomb means that I will be able to reuse the dust filters that came with the case

The 3 5.25" drive cage also interfered with the radiator fitting, so I cut a square out of the bottom to allow the rad and tubing to pass through

My next Update with be in the next few days going over design ideas for where to put the slot loading dvd drive

Update time

Spent the last few days getting only a bit done with this project but I managed to put in most of the day into modding what I needed to get done.

First thing I did was make a spot to be able to get a fill port down into my res so that I wouldn't have to slide it In and out of the 5.25 bays.

all filed down

Next I focused on getting the slot loading dvd drive installed behind the 5.25 bays.

Here's a few pictures of the res and dvd drive fitted

The next week I'm gonna try and get started on mocking up the exterior shell and get started on making the case feet
