First time Water Cooling for two 7990s and a 3930k.

Thread Starter
7990s are going to be out soon and i was planning on having this build.

Intel Core i7 3930k
Sapphire 7990 Quadfire
Asus Sabertooth X79
Samsung 830 Series 256 GB SSD
Samsung Spinpoint F4 2 TB
Samsung Spinpoint F4 2 TB Backup
G.Skill Ripjaws Z 16GB (4x4) DDR3 2133 MHz Desktop RAM (11-11-11-30)
Cooler Master Cosmos 2 Ultra
Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid 1300 Watt PSU
Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Razer DeathAdder Gaming Mouse
Pioneer VSX-1022-K 7.1 Receiver
Pioneer SP-PK51FS
Pioneer SP-BS21LR
Samsung UA46EH6030R 46" LED
Samsung UA46EH6030R 46" LED
Samsung UA46EH6030R 46" LED

The 7990 won't have any custom air cooling so i was thinking of water cooling and including the cpu in the loop. My question is what case to get? Can i use 2 cases, 1st for pc components and 2nd for water cooling pump, res, rad etc . Please don't suggest any custom case as i don't find them good looking and i want the case to blend in with all that home theatre setup. My proposed setup is

XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir with Swiftech MCP655-B
XSPC Raystorm Copper
XSPC Razor HD 7990 Full Coverage VGA Block
XSPC Razor HD 7990 Full Coverage VGA Block
XSPC RX360 Radiator

Please take a look at above components and suggest me what to do. Also, what kind of tubing should i get? I plan to overclock both the cpu and gpu to moderate levels. This will be my first water cooling experiment, so i want to learn as much as possible biggrin.gif. Thanks for your time and help.

your water cooling kit is great (I have it) but I dont know if its enough to do quad 7990's pump wise and CERTAINLY not rad wise. You could do 2 cases but that would be really awkward to work on. I would suggest getting a really big single case with more mesh than anything else (area to mount rads)

Hey man if your going to spend that kind money on a case but wonder about putting components in another, take a look at this case http://www.dangerden.com/store/dd-double-wide-tower-21-black-series-edition.html

One 360 rad will not be enough for those two cards and your cpu, if i were you I'd have 2x 360 rads.

I'm guessing this 46" TV or monitors (to lazy to check what they are) are going to be 1080p.. waste of money, buy some 1440p/1600p screens!

op clearly stated no custom cases (i assume he meant stuff like this) and that he was doing a home theater setup... seen any 46" 1440p monitors lately?

I'd have to say you should get another 360 rad (at least) and another 655 pump (ran together in series) it'll give redundancy should one ever break.
So you might want 6 fans for the two rads if you got that way... so maybe a fan controller as well.
