I'm glad I got my 3 for $50 when they were still samsung and not sukgate (or is that seagate)

Anyone else notice they removed the "by seagate" logo from Samsung drives?

Nitpick: Why not round $69.99 to $70 (1 cent off) instead of $69 (incorrect by a dollar)?

Deal expires after August 19 for those curious.

Now that they removed the logo how are we to tell the difference from the originals? I am comparing my original drive to the close ups and there is really no difference. Both same model number, both made in china. I guess we just have to go buy manufacturer date? Mine was 5/2010

When I RMA'd my Samsung drive, they sent me a Seagate HD with a Seagate sticker back. If they had these original Samsung drives, then why did they give me a damn Seagate Barracuda back? >:(

They are all Samsung by Seagate now AFAIK. Everything I've read indicates that an RMA, even for an older SpinPoint, will give you a Samsung by Seagate.

Not the exact same drives, different place of manufacture. Should have different version numbers and new 1 year warranty.

Edit: Just browsed reviews by date posted - I know most users only write reviews when they have something to complain about it, but it's pretty consistent...

The F3 was faster than the 1TB AALS black for a long time, no idea if the new blues are faster than those ?
