Yeap, I have no issues with my setup. I've tried a few RIVEs in this rig and they all worked in eyefinity. I think the tally is at 3 RIVEs. First one I bought was an openbox, but it turned out to be a refurb. It worked fine except for the refurb business. Sent that back, got another one and that one had too much deviation between the memory voltage controllers. Thus I've been thru three w/o this specific issue. To be honest I'm still skeptical that there is a real compatibility issue. I suppose that won't change until they actually release the data.

Hmm after spending a good few hours reading the whole thread, am still at a loss at how others seem to be having issues, but you seem to be running them fine, seen your other threads to, you seem like the person to go to. Hopefully the AMD team are still working on the root of the problem and a fix. Not really tried mine in eyefinity yet and not really had time to have a play of Sig rig, so can not relate at his moment in time but after reading the thread, I'm thinking, eugh, sounds like a lot of fun. BTW you have any ideas on some decent monitors for tri-fire? And maybe if three 120Hz monitors would cause more problems than it gives?

There are a hand full of us who went thru the early teething issues. You see since release to 12.6 beta, there was only one working driver lmao x123456778. That was RC11. Levesque can chime in on this topic too. I ran RC11 aka 11.12 beta until 12.9 beta rofl, one driver for 6 months. Can you imagine that?

All the releases in between were failures, insta bsod in DX11 and eyefinity. For the guys who were running tri/quad 7970s since release, the new drivers work great for us. It's all the people who have newer rigs that are having issues it seems. Although, scooby-snack just built a quadfire 7970 last month, but I prepped his OS and did his driver hacks. He has no issues with eyefinity either. Thus I'm not sure if it really is a hardware issue or not. It doesn't explain how some of us early release ppl used RC11 since launch until 12.9 beta ish w/o problems, that is regarding the RC11 driver.

Frankly I don't know what the hell the AMD guys are doing. The problems with the drivers are long winded and well known. Hell every time I mention it, Thracks like... er.

You know, the current craze right now was the clocks not going to idle speeds right in 12.11 beta? The truth is that has been an issue since 12.4 for crossfire users. See AMD broke the driver on purpose trying to prevent unofficial overclock, and they're trying to play dumb right now, roflmao. It wasn't such a big issue cuz there were 5 ppl who ran quads, but now since this is a problem for the whole of their customer base, they finally did something about it. LOL.

Re: 120hz, it shouldn't make a difference to the card.

TSM, why does your rig list a "3930" as opposed to 3930K, is there a Non-K 3930? i wonder if that may be why you dont see this issue at all.

I have thought about getting the Maximus V Extreme with the PLX chips, but I'm not sure yet.

What do you think I should do?

If you have the budget to front the swap, I say go for it. You will end up making money back after selling the RIVE and Hexacore in the long run.

I'd also like to see your bench numbers with z77 and quads. wink.gifbiggrin.gif

Just get rid of that hexacore!

I did and I am happy!

When I played BF3 on my eyefinity system (Just before my pump loop died on me) I was playing extreamly well when compared to my old X58 970 and had played over 7 hours before I just closed it... beats having it crash after 10 mins I would say.

To be honest you will make money in that deal. Just get a Gigabyte board... Either the Sniper 3 or the UP7.

How many FPS do you think I'll loose ? Heard there is more latency because of the PLX chip.

It will be around 5% give or take, but it shouldn't really be of much impact in the overall picture. If you think about it, working or not working. Working is much better, right? biggrin.gif

Front that point of view, you are right.

Will my Corsair Dominator 16 GB 2133Mhz work with z77?

So is z77 enough future proof for me to jump in it? Because I cannot keep my 3930k in stand by, I'll have to sell it.

Just not sure if z77 is as future proof as x79 .
