560 to 660ti - Worth it?

Thread Starter
Would upgrading from my GTX 560 (Non ti version) to a 660ti be worth it? would it bottleneck my cpu or any other part of my machine? ( See sig rig below).

Thanks
a move up will most always translate into better fps. From the reviews ive seen the 660 edges out a 580. Two 560tis are abit faster than a single 580. Your upgrading from a non "ti" 560 so ya.... it would be a nice upgrade. That said your cpu looks abit slow. The bottleneck would be much worse if you were running sli 660s as that cpu would really hold back the performance.

Lots would say to upgrade the cpu/mobo but ive gone several gpu upgrades with outdated cpu/mobo/ram and seen increases each time. I just couldnt be bothered even though i knew it was the better upgrade, albeit more costly.

It will be fine. It's worth it. Single GPU setup so CPU won't really hold you back.

I would say upgrade your RAM to 2x4 GB kit of 1600MHz G.Skill RipjawsX RAM or same set of Corsair Vengeance memory.

I wouldn't go for less than a factory overclocked 7950 or GTX 670 for a sensible upgrade for your use.
An i7-870 is still plenty powerful, even at stock.

I wouldn't upgrade unless it was a GTX670. Sure a 660Ti would be an upgrade, but a more practical difference would be that of a 670. With your current i7 870, an overclock would prevent any potential bottlenecks.

Remember it's going from a non Ti 560 to a Ti 660. Although yes, get a 670 and you won't look back.

It'd be a pretty big improvement going to the 660Ti , but If your able I would go for a 670, its just overall better. And if your that worried about bottlenecking OC your CPU a bit.

Are you planning to play games with Anti-Aliasing & Anisotropic Filtering? Also, is your resolution going to be higher than 1920*1080? If the answer is yes to both of these questions, then get the GTX 670, otherwise the GTX 660ti will be more than enough.
