Brand new WMO, mousewheel too sensitive

Yesterday my brand new wheel mouse arrived, now I'm an fps gamer and if most of you played other games than source you would know the mousewheel is also used to switch guns.

While im in a scrim my weapon will switch at the worst possible time, it feels like it happens just as im about to shoot. This has become frustrating because the wheel feels as if there's no notches and it moves freely.

This may not help while in game, but give it a try, if it doesn't i'll keep thinkin of things to try thumb.gif

Go to Control Panel > Hardware > Mouse
Click the wheel tab
and raise the number of lines to scroll per each click,

Honestly, the best advice is to not use your scroll wheel for gaming. It is always better to use a direct action.

Common problem of the WMO/Intellimouse series, theres a mod to fix it by opening the mouse and putting a small piece of paper somewhere, try using google to search for the mod.

He mentioned "new" WMO. That fix (which it's really not) only really helps the worn plastic piece by pushing it up.

I have a WMO 1.1a & a IE 3.0, the problem exist in both model. The tracking on these mouse are awesome. I fix the scroll wheel by opening the mouse, fold a tiny piece of paper that is thick enough, place it between the thing that hold the scroll wheel and the PCB board.

Not mean to troll or something but if you're FPS CS SOUCE/1.6 player, you should know that scrollwheel mostly used for BH'ing and not switching-weapons which is mostly used with the main-num keys, so the reall suggestion gonna be to change that bad and less-responsive habit.

Regreding the WMO's scrollwheel issue - You better use the scrollwheel windows configuration for easy and quick solution, but I would let the seller know about that and get full refurd for buying a new one. thumb.gif
