Had BSOD's !!! Please give me some answers !

OK, about two weeks ago i was getting some random (idle and games) bsod's with ntoskrnl.exe and win32k.sys located in C:Windows/memory.dmp

I've burned memtest86+ V4.20 on a CD, and i've tested my ram (2x4gb Corsair Vengeance)

One of the ram, a 4gb stick was totally broken see this picture: http://i47.tinypic.com/nf0b4k.jpg

Then i've tested the other 4gb stick, and that one was fine, with no errors.

Now i have only the 4gb stick of ram installed + another 2gb stick which i've found in the house (that 2gb ram is fine, no errors according to memtest86+)

I've played games for about 5 hours and got no BSOD's, everything is fine.

But i have a question. Could the memory controller build in the CPU have broken too ? Is possible ?

I've even tested the CPU with prime95 with blend option for 8 hours, and got no freezes/bsod's

So i guess everything is fine ???

If Memtest86+ showed errors on that stick, and after removing it, it's not showing errors anymore, it was that specific stick that was the issue - not the board, or the IMC. Get the stick replaced and stop worrying smile.gif

OK, thanks, i thought that could be something more than that stick. Now after i've removed that bad stick i played games for 5 hours and no bsod.

And that bsod came from the bad stick, i suppose ?

And for my knowledge, IF the memory controller-ul in the CPU was broken, i wasn't able to put ram into my system ? Or the CPU didn't passed my 8 hour prime95 test ? Or what ?

Indeed the bad stick is your culprit here.
The memory controller on your CPU is fine I'll put my house on it smile.gif So yes you'd be right, a buggered memory controller and you probably would not even boot.
