I was able to try mx blues and reds at frys due to open boxes. If there's one you want to try, open it up and try it. An employee let me open up a Logitech g9 because I told him I was unsure about how it would feel in my hands. He insisted I open it and even opened it for me.

You are allowed to open products. It's in the rules that if a customer asks an employee to see something in a box they have to open it. Some employees try to avoid opening boxes for various reasons though.

Best buy / futureshop / staples often carry Steelseries and Razer products. You could try the blackwidow (blue keys) or the 6gv2 (black keys) to get an idea.

^thanks everyone! I just went to a local electronics store and tried the 6gv2 with black switches, the black widow with blues, and cooler master quickfire pro with browns. Out of them all the cherry browns seem like the best fit for me. Wit that that being said I ordered a cooler master quickfire rapid with the brown switches biggrin.gif:D

Fry's used to carry a board with ALPS switches. Not sure if they still do.

The one by me carries the black widow, and the corsair boards now.

Yeah, Fry's has a SIIG keyboard with Type I ALPS though it's often out of stock.

Fry's is the only place i've seen them have keyboards out for you to test. Microcenter, Bestbuy, and pretty much everywhere else didn't. So Cal aswell

^yea I went to frys and I guess they just restocked =) I was able to demo the cherry blues, browns, blacks, and reds. Personally I'd have to say that I prefer that intermediate bump/click with the browns. The blues was just not feeling right near the accuation point for me. The cherry blacks felt okay and the reds were just too buttery lol. Not that the reds were bad at all, just something I'd have to accustom myself to.
