[TH] Six Different Diablo III Characters Have Same Exact Item - Page 4

Lol, Diablo 3 economy was ruined by something else, duping (if there even was any) hardly made any difference.

A good rule is, if everyone did this, would it be good.

I'm not talking about what's good or bad for the Diablo 3 economy, I'm talking about what Blizzard could conceivably expect to make from fees on a given item.

A single item may demand a high price, but out of thousands of potential buyers, that price will not be significantly higher than two, three, or likely even six of them. Also, one item will change hands far less often than six would, presenting less opportunity for fees.

People are speaking as if a single item type has a total value that is evenly divisible by the number of that kind of item; this is ridiculous.

If that was the case then wouldn't blizzard just want to increase the drop rates for higher tier items so they can make more money? But they don't because then nothing would be worth anything. The argument still doesn't work.

And if duping is available then more people will dupe and a lot less people will pay for items not just because they CAN dupe but also because they know duped items aren't worth that much and also the risk involved with them. I mean if some company had some magic duplication devices IRL would you want to pay near full price for something they can make for fee essentially? Just like how UNID items stopped being sold in the face of people learning of the scam I can't see people wanting to play a game where dupes exist or spend hours and hours grinding when they could get the best gear free or cheap, and all those factors would most certainly hurt the players AND blizzards profits from the economy.
