Coolermaster elite 311 PSU

Thread Starter
I'm going to build a very budget gaming machine for someone, and i intend for it to have an i3 2100 and a radeon 6770. I want to buy a case with a PSU included to cut down on costs. Is the 420 watt power supply in the coolermaster elite 311/310 adequate? I know the wattage is enough but are these PSUs reliable if they are being slightly stressed?
Cheers.

CM power supplies in the past I know have not been of the best build quality by far. Do you have a link to the actual package deal you're speaking of?

Unfortunately those PSU's are really not worth their weight in poop. The 12v rail only has 16A. I would very strongly suggest going with a better quality PSU. I know that it doesn't sound like good news, but unless you or your friend is willing to possibly buy a whole new rig because the PSU took out components, I would just set that PSU aside. Some good alternatives; -assuming you can only buy from pccasegear

Thermaltake W03940

Corsair CX430
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=17405
(I have this one for my girlfriends rig, I am very impressed by the build quality)

In short, your PSU is the most important component of your system, bar none. If you feel comfortable enough to run that other PSU, I would suggest loads not to exceed 70% of the total wattage.
