ATT internet so expensive

Thread Starter
I checked the ATT internet bill today and price went up by $3 this month, maybe not this month but recently. It went from $15 to $20 to $25 to $30 to $33 for a simple 1.5Mbps down and 384Kbps up. I realize that prices are bound to go up, maybe this is normal in the industry or just AT&T. I'm thinking about switching to Comcast but will they do the same thing? I don't mind if the promo price wears off as long as it's nothing drastic or continuously increase.

Both Comcast and AT&T are pretty terrible, though that's a statement I'd make about most ISPs.

No other alternatives in the area?

I used to use Comcast and what my brother does is call them up and ask for a promo to keep the price low or we'll look for another ISP and it's been working for the last 5 years.
Kept the bill to 39.99 instead of the usual $60-74 a month for 12mbps

Right now, I checked Comcast's site and the most affordable plan is the Economy Plus (3Mbps/768Kbps) for $40 month to month. I suppose it's similar to the $38 monthly AT&T Pro package (3Mbps/768Kbps). Anything else on Comcast's site is cheap until you get hit with a $50 internet plan.

Not in the Bay Area I don't think. I'm almost willing to gamble that Comcast won't increase the internet bill that frequent.

hmmm, thats a pretty good price increase over time frown.gif , probably (like said before) call and ask about current promos tongue.gif Currently im using ATT uverse and paying about $25 for .. 6Mbs (somewhere around there). In my experience Comcast prices can be pretty cheap and quick but their service has not always been the most reliable.

Blah this reminds me i have to go cancel my ATT tomorrow since i have to moving to a new apartment that only has Comcast frown.gif

See what I mean? For $45 here, you only get 6Mbps on AT&T at $43 and for $50 Comcast same speed.

Do you have their cable TV as well? Their Elite package is $43 monthly non bundled. I would actually get it if I knew when their prices would increase and by how much.
