hopefully the question belongs to this board so here we go.
I'm looking for a headset for longer teamspeak sessions that's powered by regular batteries. My living room gets larger and I'd like to avoid running a microphone cable through it if possible. I suppose Bluetooth is the way to go here?
So far I could only find integrated battery stuff from Plantronics and whatnot. 6hours call time doesn't really look that good somehow.

Well a little more research didn't turn out any suitable headsets somehow. I've ordered a Jabra Wave something which wasn't as expensive as these plantronics Voyager thingies. Curious how it'll work out, package should arrive tomorrow. wheee.gif

Well that was some kind of failure. For microphone + sound Win7 uses some kind of handsfree profile that nets audio quality close to 80's style transatlantic calls. Just for audio it uses AD2P which gives pretty good audio quality but no mic.
The Jabra and the dongle go back to amazon tomorrow. I've ordered a Plantronics Voyager PRO UC which should be on my doorstep by then and hope things are better on that front. It's marketed to phones and pc's at the same time so I hope they put a little more thought into that one.

The Plantronics thingy seems to work like a charm! microphone and sound quality is good. With a price tag around 100€ it's kinda expensive but it mastered the first evening long session without any noticable issues. wheee.gif
