I just need to figure out what voltage i can run 4.4 at. VID is 1.26 but ive seen people running way less.

I just finished eating myself, im going to jump into the bios and see if i can resolve this voltage flucuation issue.

Alright i switched my multiplier to 43 and set LLC one below the highest. I also changed my vcore to auto just to get a reference voltage for this speed.

I ran prime for 15 minutes and it stayed at 1.248 exactly throughout the entire test.


Now i need to figure out how to replicate this with offset voltage so i can see if it is stable with less voltage.

Any ideas?

Before you work on offset OC, honestly I'd work on fixed VCore OC and make 4.4GHz (If that's your goal) stable. Not just 15 minutes of Prime either, that really doesn't mean anything. Start by getting OCCT stable 60 minutes, then move to Prime Blend, final goal would be 6-8 hours. Prime Blend will be testing RAM and other busses' stability. Other people are going to recommend other stress tests, you can get into that debate but I like to keep it simple and I never have stability problems with my many OCs.

After you know the fixed VCore you need for stable 4.4, you can simply find the offset settings that keep the same VCore at load.

The purpose of changing LLC is so you have a higher idle voltage, so you'll avoid light-load and/or idle bluescreens. That might mean one tick below the highest LLC, or two. BUT FIRST, you should know the fixed VCore that makes 4.4 stable at full load.

I'm using an offset OC on my sig rig, but I started with fixed VCore so I knew where I stood at load.

When i was set to 44 multiplier and auto voltage, cpu-z reported roughly 1.26 vcore. Would that be a good place to start with a fixed voltage?

When stress testing, run on manual and when you find a stable vcore usually 12 hours of blend, you switch over to offset finding the vcore with the VID and the manual vcore. So, let's say you need 1.25 manual vcore to be stable and it says 1.20 VID. You get 1.25 - 1.20 and the difference is your offset.

Here is what I usually see as a formula:

Stress test it and see. You can pick a starting voltage but in the end it's all about what it takes to run stable. Every chip/mobo will be different.

Alright just so i understand how offset works let me give an example.

My board is set to 1.150 vcore.

If i apply +0.050 vcore it should run at 1.2 at full load and no higher right?

No, but its a start.
First get your VID. Download CoreTemp and run it and you will see a column saying VID. That number is key.
So:
Let's say it says VID is 1.25, and you put offset at +0.05. It will be 1.30.

Haha i just discovered what VID is before. I googled up a post from Two Cables on this forum.

I thought my board running at 1.150 would be the highest it would go, but apparently it goes higher even without an offset increase.

My VID at 4.3 was 1.246. I have the offset at -0.005 and it is currently hovering between 1.24 and 1.25 in cpu-z.

Temps are fine, now to make sure its stable. I can probably get the vcore lower, but ill worry about that after im sure this offset is stable.
