Temp-what to trust...bios or sandra ?

Thread Starter
Hi I have a dfi nf4ud board and a 4400 89 w chip.
It is water cooled with a wall ac unit blowing sub 60 f air over it.
the bios temp says 17c but the sandra temp says 37....
as it is hard to get under the m/b with temp gun I wonder what the chip is really running at temp wise...
running 1.58 v at 2.86

I would try an alternate temp monitor, ie Speedfan, it works very well with that mobo. I have never used Sandra for temp monitor, most people dont, between those temps I would def go with the bios temp

One thing to remember, a lot of sensors can be up to 10c off. I have another board and 3700+ here at my house and my main rig says 28c idle- 38c idle core, with the other 3700+ in here same volts/OC it says 28c and 29c core idle. I'm not sure if the CPU's core can be that much different and not affect my motherboard sensor so I mostly ignore the core sensor in my main CPU.

You could use Everest Ultimate Edition trial- shows the same temps as speedfan. Its supose to be 30 days, if you want turn your date to like 2008 and install, then set the date back you'll have a lot longer. I still have over a year on my trial lol.
