Definitively can't take legal action, I made this thread to make my fellow OCN members aware of the shady business EA is conducting. It really sucks, because he has never had a single issue with EA, and first problem he had, they made him feel like a thief/cheater. Me personally I was going to buy BF3, but after this, I think I might get MW3 LOL

It sounds like you screwed up and then EA investigated and looked shady on your end. So much trolling (dayofthegreek) and incorrect info here...........

Id be interested in what that "error message" was.

This. Regardless of how much people hate a company, they do what they do to stay in business. They probably told him not to open another dispute because he already had one opened. Filing multiple disputes for the same issue isn't a good thing. Also, I had an issue with SWTOR where it charged my account but for some reason gave me an error with my card so the monthly sub didn't go through. After about 2-3 weeks the charge finally dropped from my bank account. It takes awhile for things like that to go through and get solved. Knowing what the error was would help us understand the problem, rather than just trying to turn us against EA without any actual info.

EA sucks and I will never support them no matter how much I want the game. I bought DA 2 when it came out and lost all my cash because they claimed I used an invalid serial number and once I used it there was nothing they could do. Lost 3 games in the process frown.gif

It was an error non the less, but that doesn't give EA the right to treat you like a thief for no reason. He only opened one dispute because he got charged and didn't got anything in return. What would you have done? Just shut up and let them take your money? I really doubt it, you would have probably done the same in his place, and no I'm not trolling, just sharing my brother's experience, you don't have to agree with me. Many people had issues with bad graphic cards from evga, but their customer service is great in solving issues, I personally haven't had any problems with evga, but because of their customer service not many people complaint. All I'm trying to say is that a big company like EA maybe should have handled things differently, not black mail a customer for an error on their end. What if he had another issue in the future? He'll be banned for even complaining, I really don't think that's right.

I don't know how anyone can defend EA's statement that if he ever opens a dispute again, they will ban him.
All I can say is, with consumers who shrug that one off, there just is no limit to what they will apparently take. So why wouldn't EA do this? They have people defending it.

Never knew there was such a thing as financial S&M fetish, but I guess there is. "Violate me EA! Violate me! Yeah, tell me if I dispute it, you'll end my existence! Yeeeeees." thumb.gif

Unfortunately this is the same with most gaming companies.

I had some trouble buying Left 4 Dead when it came out on Steam few years ago, they charged my father's CC but never got the game. It was Christmas, so I wasn't expecting an answer from Steam anytime soon, so I did a chargeback.

Got my account banned until they unbanned it after I sent a ticket, meanwhile my account was banned for 3 days without a valid reason.

Sadly this is not just EA, this happens with most companies, until proven otherwise, the customer is guilty.

But that doesn't make it right, just because it could happen with most companies. We are talking about a game, nothing too expensive to make such a big deal from, with all the money this developers/publishers/distributors are making with each sale, there shouldn't have to be a reason to banned you for no reason until they can find what's actually going on. I'm not saying that getting banned is a life/death situation, but come on, let the kid play until you resolve the issue.
