There's definitely something else at play though. Like I said before, both my cards are at exactly 100% yet one is consistently clocked higher.

Is the lower boost card the same even if you switch slots? I still know quality has something to do with it because I was looking a guys 670's on another forum ASCI was 80% 1150MHz boost and his other was 99% 1212MHz boost. I have a another 680 coming wed I'm curious to see what it does.

ya i'm sorry to say but that is just ONE situation you've heard of, again, i have 2 ref 680s, one 100% one not.. guess which one has the higher boost?

Point of view gtx 680 hand picked low leakage is set to the same boost as mine 1229MHz but there max boost is 1267MHz where as the 680 I have is 1254MHz. Only goes to show you the more leakage or lower ASCI the less boost it will have.

Yep, switching them around doesn't make a difference in the clock speed of either card. Oddly enough, it does lower my benchmark scores a bit (and yes, I've been watching the clock speeds like a hawk during the entire benchmark run). I'm chalking that one up to black magic though, I have no idea where that performance difference comes from.

EVERY KEPLER CARD HAS A DIFFERENT BOOST

You can buy 20 different kepler cards and they will have 20 different boost speeds. Its how the kepler is. Just about every 680 sli user has found what you found.

FYI: ASIC quality in gpu-z is meaningless with nvidia cards, it means nothing. This is documented at techpowerup. It only means something with radeon 7xxx cards.
