Are Their any reliable HDD out there left?

I accidentally deleted my partition (my life pretty much) and I am trying to recover some of the data using some programs. Before I can go any further, I need an HDD with 1Tb at least because the data lost was 1Tb to copy the recovered files to. I need a drive fast either internal or external I don't know which one would be better but I'd take whatever is the most reliable path,

ANnd its gotta be local because time is of the essence. I can't use newegg. Its going to have to be Microcenter but all the seem to have are WD and Seagates frown.gif


I'm considering the 1Tb My passport WD External right now. any recommendations?

As long as you haven't yet reformatted, TestDisk can restore deleted partitions.

Can test disk recover game files or is it limited to pictures, word docs, and pdfs?

And can it handle 1Tb of storage? The program I am using remo recover is slow as hell. took it 24 hours to scan and find my data, and it looks like it needs another 24 to try and recover them

You sure? Pretty sure you can restore a partition without any of that stuff, assuming you just deleted the partition then did nothing else.

No I haven't formatted it. I was about to but quit to see if something like this was possible. From what I read, it seems like Testdisk needs somewhere to copy the recovered files to. I mean the HDD is deleted and it is not formatted so it can't really have anything saved to it.

How can I recover a PARTITION I deleted using disk management without any of "that stuff"

The data isn't gone, just the table of contents is, assuming all you did was delete the partition, and not formatted yet.

The data itself is still there and fully in tact. Try test disk out like mentioned. If you really want to buy another drive to back it up to (not a bad idea), go for a WD internal. Any of them will be fine.

I personally have used EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard myself (its a paid program), and it does a fantastic job. I got my full 1.5TB back easily. I did have to use another disk to write it all to, and it took a good 12 hours or so. But it worked great, and all my data is back and fully in tact.

It will be able to restore the partition table, the section of the HDD that points the computer to the partitions. It should be able to do this in place in minutes if I recall correctly.
