[KG]Apple accuse Samsung of ‘abusing power’

Quote:
Apple experts have said that Samsung abused their ‘monopoly power’ over certain wireless patents and have demanded an unreasonable royalty from Apple for use in their iPhone.
Richard Donaldson, a former patents attorney for Texas Instruments told the court that a 2.4% royalty Samsung demanded on the price of the iPhone was ‘discriminatory’. He said that the patents in question enabled just a small fraction of the smartphones overview feature set.

You mean Apple? Samsung has only lost money on this as of now.

Seems a bit shady. "certain wireless patents" doesn't really mean anything. Tell me what they are instead of just being a shady prick.

What most people never seem to remember is Samsung supplies Apple with the chips to run the iPhone. Apple must be really butthurt when Samsung profits from not only Samsung phone sales, but Apple's phone sales as well.

All I chalk this up to is these companies saving their butts due to a struggling economy. It's become a cut-throat patent war. They will do whatever it takes to keep their company afloat. It's all I seem to hear about with these companies, especially Apple.

I like to see them both as fantastic companies, that realistically BOTH make fantastic products.
I don't like hearing about this all the time, but we all need them both around for the sake of progression.
