I agree with pioneer. Better CPU cooling and and a sound upgrade from logicrap would be real nice. That or just save your money for an new graphics card.

You have some pretty good ideas so far, but I just thought I would throw emphasis on that 670. They really are incredible cards. I initially bought a 680 windforce, but ended up sending it back for the 670 WF and I couldn't be happier. The frames it pushes in BF3, Rage, and Crysis 2 are incredible, and the gameplay is silky smooth. I'm very happy with my investment and I got it in time for my early start on Saturday the 25th for pre purchasing GW2. It'll chew it up like nothing.

1. put the GPU up for sale for $120 but dont remove it from your case
2. when it sells, take the money in PayPal, add it to your $200 and buy a 7850 ($260) and a new CPU cooler ($30) from newegg
3. run your PC in the CPU integrated graphics for a couple of days
4. install your new gear
5. experience a much better gaming experience
6. OC that stuff because now you can... and stay cool
7. take the extra $30 and go out on a date with your girl

the 7800 series graphics should be getting a price drop soon, so if you could find a 7850 for under $200 i would pounce on it.

Problem is P67 does not let you use integrated GPU.

I am with those who say get a new GPU however.

Either that or get a good case and a cooler. Do not need more than 8GB RAM. The HAF series of cases are ugly to me, but whatever you like get that case and use the rest to get an H50 or something. My H50 works well, is quiet, and does not take up any space in my case.

Thread Starter
My board has no vga/dvi inputs so...

I'm looking at te 670, isn't GW2 and WoW mainly CPU instensive though? I was thinking they used more cpu for some reason. Or would a OC'd i5 be enough for that.

I'm just worried about the 670 not fitting in my super small haf 912 and my power supply not being able to handle it.

With the new GPU, wouldn't I start to notice a bottleneck with the CPU then?

Hey,

I would do two things:

1) Get rid of the piece of ***t stock cooler and get something nice, and high-end to OC the CPU. No sense in having a High-end motherboard if you aren't going to overclock.
2) Get another 560. Or sell 560 and get a 670.

Hey,

1) No issue with power supply. 500W is enough for a 670.
2) HAF 912 is big. I know this because I built a i5-rig two months ago with it and use it regularly. No issue even with a GTX 590/6990.

If your PSU can power a 560 it can power a 670 no problem. Also some of the none reference cooled 670 are actually shorter the the 560 so no issues there either thumb.gif And as for bottlenecking: WoW is horribly old and unoptimized so it should not be used as a reference. How CPU intensive GW2 is I don't know for sure as its not out yet but what I do know is that it will benefit for a fast GPU.

Edit: I heard some people form the Beta say that GW2 ran great on a 2500k/gtx670 combo though I don't know if the 2500k was OC'ed.

my bad, all my recent builds have been H67 or something that works with onboard Intel HD 2000 graphics. either way... for a new GPU, spend the $15 for overnight shipping and go watch a movie for a day until the GPU arrives.
