Sorry, the internet here is crap.

Snowmen
My first choice was the HCP-1200, but its insanely overpriced here and the local distros dont even stock it anymore.

I've not really decided on the computer components as of yet. Am getting the PSU as a gift, hence I'm not too worried about saving money. (as long as it is below 400).
The current price here would be

Aurum Gold 1200w for $329
Seasonic 1250x for $369

And the CM 1500w is for $300, but since the seller got it as a gift, it doesnt have any receipt/warranty. Dont have much faith in the RMA in Wales, it would be ridiculously expensive to ship the PSU back to Singapore from Wales for RMA. Thats why I'm looking for a unit that is reliable.

Thanks mate, the current psu is an Aerocool 750w, it was pretty decent, but the distro here is crap and when the PSU died, they wanted me to pay 120bucks for the RMA and in return they would change it for a 700w psu or sth. Wasnt worth the trouble and decided to change the entire PSU to a more reliable brand. Like I said, the new psu is a gift and its a choice between those 3.

The HCP-1200 and the Corsair AX1200, were my first two choices, but are unavailable here at the moment.

And yes, I do plan on upgrading the GPUS once I get to Wales. Am currently using a 5870/5850 (not sure which one), but am planning to go on dual/tri 580s.

Aurum 1200, best value among the two with warranty (the M2 1500 hasn't had a proper review yet and at 300$ without any warranty is not something I'd recommend anyway).
Go with the Seasonic only if full modularity is important (sleeving maybe?), if not go with the FSP, it's as bad ass as the Seasonic and it's cheaper.

Thanks mate, I'll prolly do this. Been trying to find a good review for the M2, but havent found anything decent and like you said, 300 bucks for a psu without any warranty and a proper review is a bit too risky for me.

Dont think the extra 50w between the Aurum and the Seasonic would matter too much. Will get the Aurum tomorrow if the shop has it, if not I'll get the Seasonic.. Was thinking of sleeving the 6+2 wires for the GPUs, the casing has a window and the colour theme for this build is green and black.

Just replaced my noisy-fugly Antec HCP-1200 with a spanking new Corsair AX1200i.

And the AX1200i is soooo much more silent then the HCP-1200 with high-loads (4X 7970 + 3930k 5.1)... Finally. Some silence. The 80mm fan of the HCP-1200 was really annoying. I have swap my HCP-1200 2 times to be sure I didn't got a bad one, and those other 2 were also really noisy on high-loads. My watercooled system is whisper quiet, and the HCP-1200 noise was really annoying, standing out like a sore thumb...

The HCP-1200 is not ''amazing'' for everyone. It's noisy and fugly. And for some people, those things are also important when choosing a PSU.

Electrically, the HCP-1200 is ''amazing'', yes. But some parts of the design are not so ''amazing'': fugly sleeving, noisy 80mm fan...

I just scored a Corsair AX1200i, it was a bit pricy but the specs and reviews are killer. I putting in inside a Corsair 650D (CC6050DW-1). Still on the fence a about a mobo and CPU, I want this build to be a monster so I'm taking my time and doing my homework. I figured that PSU is solid. Once I fire it up, I'll put in my two cents about it. But if you want something cutting edge and innovative check out the AX1200i.

I've decided to go down tomorrow to get the Aurum 1200w. If there isnt any stock then I'd prolly just get the Seasonic X1250w.

My first two choices were the HCP-1200 and the AX1200, but the HCP is crazily overpriced in Singapore and the AX1200 had a lot of complains. Not sure when the AX1200i would arrive, but am pretty sure it wont be in before Friday.

Thanks guys
