So here is my updated list. What am I missing or what can I do better?
  • CPU - EK-Supremacy Acetal
  • GPU - Aquacomputer aquagraFX 680 GTX Full Coverage Liquid Cooling Block - Nickel Plated (2 of them) AND Aqua Computer twinConnect kit for GTX 680
  • Reservoir - EK-MultiOption RES X2 - 250 Advanced
  • Pump - Swiftech MCP35X 12v PWM Controlled Water Pump
  • Radiator - Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 360mm and 120mm swifttech
  • Tubing - Tygon 2375 Ultra Chemical Resistant Plasticizer Free Tubing - 3/8" ID (1/2" OD)
  • Fittings/Barbs/Clamps - Alphacool Compression Fitting - G 1/4 Thread 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD
  • Fans - Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PL-2 120mm x 25mm Ultra Quiet Fan - 1400 RPM
  • Coolant - DW and Biocide
  • TIM - ARCTIC COOLING Arctic Cooling MX-4

Do I need anything besides the compression fittings to attach the tubing and what not?

You'll probably want some angled adapters, but you'll need to plan out your loop to know what will go where. Two 45s to go from CPU to GPU is a almost mandatory.

Also, Duralene is the tubing of choice these days. Available from Sidewinder computers only right now. It's the only stuff that stays clear and sharp without clouding or gunking up your system.

Phobya HeGrease is also the best performing TIM for the money. Skinnee labs has a great rundown.

Are you ABSOLUTELY set on that case? As far as I can see, it is an air-cooling case, not built for water. I would highly recommend looking at the Bitfenix Shinobi XL, NZXT Switch 810, or the like... For 2-Way SLI and an overclocked CPU, you need more room than your current case can offer.

Also, some people say EK has gotten better, but I am of the opinion "better safe than sorry". Last thing you want is $250 in blocks corroding and there being nothing you can do about it

Here is what I would do, personally:
- Get Switch 810 from Micro Center $120
- XSPC Raystorm cpu block $50
- 2x Watercool Heatkiller 680 Full-Coverage GPU Blocks (LT or Hole Editions) $220-$250
- 2x Heatkiller Backplates $60
- 1x Watercool Heatkiller SLI Bridge $12
- 1x XSPC EX420 Radiator $70
- 1x XSPC EX240 Radiator $45
- 12x XSPC Compression Fittings $48
- 10' Tubing 1/2"ID-3/4"OD $5-$30
- 3-6x Bgears Blasters 140mm 1800rpm (103cfm/3.5mmHg) $25-60
- 2-4x Koolance 120x25mm 2800rpm OR XSPC 120x25mm 2000rpm fans $14-30
- 1x Silver Kill Coil $5
- 1x Bottle PTNuke-PHN $4
- 4gal Distilled Water $2

* You will want some angled fittings, so get the angled rotary Adapters if you get any. They are the ones that have you screw on your own compression fitting instead of having one built in. They are cheaper and FAR more versatile. EK 45* single-rotary are $5.45/ea @ Jab Tech and 90* single-rotary are $6. I have a ton of Bitspower angled adapters/fittings but I am OCD about tube routing. You can really get away with none, but having 3-4 45deg + 2 90deg can make your life much easier and your tubing much shorter and cleaner.

The above can be tweaked, I simply tried to give a list of the absolute best components for the money. Cooling the approx 550W your system puts out, and doing it well, isn't something you can in any way skimp on or you will just be full of regret. Do it right, though, and you will be ecstatic. Trust me, it's so much cheaper to do it right the first time.

WOO! A full build for what I need. Couple of questions though.

  1. What about a res and pump?
  2. The Cooler Master Storm Series Trooper is too small to WC in? frown.gif

Oh, I thought you already had the Koolance dual-bay res/dual-pump combo?
Otherwise, I love the MCP35X (get the heatsink for it!) and the EK Multioption Res X2 Advanced 150.
I am not saying you CANT watercool in the Storm Trooper, just that it is a case 100% designed for air cooling so you will need to do a lot of modifications to fit a few rads, whereas you can buy a case designed for water cooling for less. The Switch 810, to fit the EX420, requires that you drill a total of 8 screw holes. Helluva lot easier than cutting a case to pieces...

Very True. I have the Koolance from a trade but many people tell me it's a pain to bleed so I'll just buy new.
How are these?

EK-Multioption RES X2 - 250 Advanced Reservoir
Swiftech MCP35X 12V DC Pump

As for the case are there any other suggestions you have for cases? I have a decent budget to work with as I don't want to make this more work than it needs to be.

You should be very happy smile.gif The only issue I see is your choice in tubing and no cooling for the pump. If your budget allows I would get this http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/dupvctu1idx3.html and this http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/mcsehesiform.html. I like many others had issues with the Primoflex tubing and switched it to Durelene about a month ago and have zero issues. The pump heat sink will probably extend the life of your pump and make it more reliable.
