What the hell, Disney!?!?

Basically, implying all FOSS software is only used to save time and is riddled with viruses. Who pays the script writers to produce this utter crap? I'd say it's more likely to be found in closed source software because no one can see the code.

What are your thoughts on this?

In shows and movies they always get stuff like this wrong. There's nothing you can really do about it.

I laugh. Just because of two things said. "Open Source" and "Hidden". The contradictions are lol.

Guys, bare in mind that Disney are huge supporters for DRM et al and sit on many of the same boards as Sony, Microsoft and Apple. For a long time Disney has had a major problem with open technology and open licences. Which is ironic because their empire wouldn't exist without it (all their biggest movies - basically what made them - are all based on public domain stories).

Disney are an example of the typical kind of leeching that goes on in any massive corporation: steal what ideas you can then destroy all your opposition. they just wrap it up well behind a thick layer of cute, fuzzy, bunny fur tongue.gif

But seriously, the amount of money they've made from the public domain, they shouldn't be judging any kind of open source movement - yet they're one of the quickest to sue over others infringing their intellectual property. rolleyes.gif

probably bitter cause they couldn't play "the sims" at work.

Most of that work is does via 3rd parties though (the exceptions being the animation studios like Pixar). Disney will basically approach a 3rd party to create the CGI rather than having their own in-house rendering farm.
