What is better 120Hz vs monitor with resolution higher than 1080?

Hey guys. I've been wondering this for sometime. I wanted to get another monitor for my rig since I plan to use 3 monitors eventually. But my main monitor (middle) I want to use to watch videos and play games. I also do some photo editing here and there. But I need some insight to what is better to use for my main screen? I like how 120Hz looks like on a TV so I could imagine how it would look on a game or movie. But I also hear how others prefer a higher resolution than 1080 on a monitor because the image is so crisp and vibrant.

So which is the better screen for games, videos and photo editing? Since this will be the main monitor I'd want a nice, crisp image all around too.

I currently have an LG IPS LED 1920 X 1080 monitor and its pretty good (coming from using a tv as my monitor) but I'll have to see if I decide to keep it around
