Hx850 has only 1 4+4pin for mobo, adapter for other 4pin?

I will be building a pc for a friend and he once won a corsair hx850. It has one 24 pin and one 8 pin connector for a mobo. Yet he ordered an ASUS maximus formula z77. Which uses a 24 pin, an 8 pin and an addition 4 pin for the cpu.

1. Do I need all those connectors or will the extra 4 pin only be needed for extreme overclocking?

2. If I do: are there safe molex to 4 or 8 pin adapters out there? I once read about some being for grafic cards and they use a different pin layout :/

You don't need to use the 8 and 4 pin for the CPU. You can use just the 8pin. It explains this in the motherboard's manual...read. I have the same motherboard.
