Can anyone in New England assist me?

I'm looking for someone in or around the New England area (particularly Massachusetts or Rhode Island) who might be able to assist me in:

#1) Soldering
#2) Wire stripping
#3) Crimping 3-pins

I have no experience in any of these and I'd prefer to learn myself than continue to ship fans back to FrozenCPU.

I hate to be rude, but at least #1 and #2 are pretty darn easy.

Youtube has a ton of guides on soldering, and wire stripping is pretty self explanatory. Just get a knife and circle it around the wire.

Not being rude, no worries. smile.gif

The main issue is just that the wires I'm dealing with are very small, the connectors very small and frail, and I've never soldered anything before. My neighbor is an electrician (I'm 24, hes a father) so I'd feel weird asking him, especially since I'm dealing with tiny electronics like computer fans (in this case) and he'd probably expect something larger.

for thin wires you don't even have to use knife. sometimes finger nails and force is enough to strip the wire.

I practiced soldering with old fans and speakers etc until I became capable. I'm still not good, but I can easily join wires if I need to. Hence, all you need to do is practice. As for stripping wires, if your afraid to damage the wire, get a wire stripper. Its cheap and saves alot of time. You could probably get one for $10 shipped from Amazon. For crimping, that one requires more effort. The best I can tell you is to practice on some spare wires. After a few, you'll get the hang. I can't speak about other crimpers but many on OCN swear by the MDPC crimper as most others give you poor work and alot of heartache. Hence, get the right tools.

Soldering is easy. I learned how to do that in middle school lol.
