get 560ti SLI or a single HD 7950 3gb/ 660 GTX TI 2 gb

Well...7950 or 660 Ti are not free. They are easily triple the price.

Now to the OP I agree with PontiacGTX 550 Ti SLI doesn't worth the money unless you can get the second dirt cheap.
If you want an upgrade, this is a cheap and reasonable option, you can get an EVGA GTX 560 from newegg for $130 after rebates IMO much better choice than SLI 550 Ti's

Remember you're all thinking 1GB 550Ti's. 2GB 550 Ti's in SLI isn't bad - scales pretty well and you'll run out of chip power before you run out of VRAM.

yup, and i have the 2gb version. i also have a 50.0 off on newegg. so i will only be paying 100.00 for it. a lot of people seen to think the 550Ti is not very good. well the 2gb is a very good card. i play all my games maxed out except for bf3 and it is close to being on max.

The 550 Ti doesn't have the bandwidth to recognize all the 2 GB though. I would still get the 1 GB 560 since it is double the performance at only $30 more, 550 Ti SLI = Single 560 vanilla.

But since the OP decided his choice I hope good luck to him and hope SLI 550s perform as he wants thumb.gif.

that benchmark is only good if it was for how the card would work on my system. my res is 1680x1050, on dirt 3 it max it out with a constant 60fps, the only time i see a drop is when i run fraps for recording my game. bf3 i play all on high with FXAA off and no HBAO or what ever it is off my avg is 52fps but on a big map with 64 players i will see it dip to 38 if there is a lot of action going on. as much as i like to be leave benchmarks i have learned they are only for a general basis. also in bf3 i use 1.8gb of vram.

not trying to start anything or make anyone mad. just showing that the 550Ti 2gb is a good card, i think two will be great for me. i don't have to have a constant 60fps in bf3 with all they eye candy. i just like to get as close to it as i can.

550ti performs 5 to 10% less than a 460 GTX 1gb and OC it`s limited and has few gains... but 560ti`s are other story
