Please, no more GTX 670 vs Radeon 7970. PLEASE!

Thread Starter
Hopefully this will be one of the last 7970 vs 670 threads. Ever.
I'm gonna put this to you short and sweet.
You play NVIDIA optimized games at 2560 x 1600 or lower? GTX 670 is for you.
You play any other game at 1920 x 1200 or lower, and like having a cool and quiet GPU? Get a GTX 670.
Play games, and don't care about noise/heat (I assume you know how to OC)? Go the 7970.
You play any other game at a resolution higher than 1920 x 1200? 7970.
Like OCing with any game? 7970.
Want to do some compute (GPGPU) stuff (if Folding go with 670)? Go with 7970.

Pretty simple.

There is no stopping those questions. This site is a buyers guide disguised as an enthusiast's forum, seems like the majority of posts on this site is, do I buy GPU A or GPU B.

I've said this many times before

brute force and higher performance don't always win.

I was seriously considering 7970 CFX/7990 vs 670 SLI

The only Nvidia optimized game I play is BF3...albeit it became my benchmark game and is probably one game i'll log a lot of hours into.

Having multimonitors it makes sense to go AMD route, but I've been burned before by their legacy drivers and I know it's supposedly better now, but if I'm going to be spending this much cash it better be crappy-software proof...especially when it comes to SLI/CFX AND Surround/Eyefinity.

If you read several reviews it also mentions SLI setups are perceived as having less microstutter effects...sure it's highly subjective but I'd rather take slightly lower performance than headaches.

7970 GHz overclocks like mad, but I'm happy with my purchase (got a good deal and I can pretty much achieve double the reference 680 performance with my pair of cards)
