Help in power supplies..?

Thread Starter
Im trying to find a good guide that really thoroughly explains EVERYTHING to look for in a power supply (aside from the amperage on the rails and 80 plus certification) can anyone give me a link for a very lengthy and recent guide explaining this? I tried googling it for a while, and i remember someone posted a reply to someone listing the things he looks for in a psu, and he had 5 things on there, with 80 plus certification being the least important. I know amperage on the rails was #1 on his list but i want to know what other 3 things to look for in a quality psu.

By the way, how much combined amperage on the 12v rails is this power supply: model psaz-cp700

on the sticker, it has 21A on +12v1 and 22A on +12v2

I tried googling how to figure this out but apparently you have to find something on the power supply that has the combined +12V amperage on the rails listed, which I do not see on this particular psu

And, judging from what you see, is this a crappy powersupply or decent? Im guessing from what ive read that it will have total amperage supply somewhere in the high 30A anywhere to 40A... can it run a 2600k and gtx 660 ti with h100 (both oc, overvolt to as much as possible with stability) with 2 hard drives & 3 case fans safely? Or would that be pushing it? Or just way too weak?

Also, 80+ certification, just to be clear, means nothing except it will use less power and generate less heat/noise to supply the wattage, correct? a 600w psu still delivers 600w even if its not 80+, right?

Thanks for anything that can help me figure all this out

A good place to start learning would be right here on our forums actually, check out this thread for info: http://www.overclock.net/t/715889/psu-articles#post9110838

Very true, especially the ones on ripple, voltage regulation and efficiency. This way, you'll be able to understand reviews that you read which will help for sure. Also, I'd read reviews on www.jonnyguru.com because honestly, the guy over there is a PSU genius.
