Hi i thought id chime in as i have the same basic setup motherboard and cpu. Btw you are getting exelent help from the above posters.
I just thought I would let you know there is a sabertooth forum for the 990fx. With tons of posts and overclocking advice for this motherboard in particular.
not to mention future issues like what parts to upgrade with etc. Good luck Btw i am a older tech but have little overclocking experiance.
there is a auto overclock feature in the bios. With some reading you will understand some of the bios features that will help you on your way.

Thanks I found it after posting here. I'm stable now, but need to update the cooling before overclocking again.

When you do upgrade the cooling, there is a guide to bulldozer/piledriver overclocking using asus boards, it has a lot of detail in including recommended settings to start at for manual overclocking and has helped me get my fx6300 to 4.5ghz stable
