Computer randomly restarting - Page 2

Thread Starter
I removed my overclock and it hasn't happened since then.
What with my overclock might be causing it to restart while under light load without showing BSOD?

I've been able to game for hours and run Prime95 without a hitch but I'll restart while doing nothing at all...

OP, be advice I too had a OCZ Powersupply and it took out my processor (also a 3570k) and my motherboard and was also having restarting issues. Replaced my 3570k and everything else and Im back up and running. Hope its not the same issue with you but figured I'd let you know smile.gif Good luck!

Doesnt matter how much load is on a CPU. If it is not a stable overclock it can crash whenever.

Download LinX and start with stock settings. run 25 loops to make sure your system is stable. try search the forums on how to OC with your MOBO/CPU combination. Then try a more modest OC like 4ghz. see if you can pass 25 loops, then bump to 4.2..., etc.

Noone remembers the C3/C6 Reporting on Offset mode can cause idle problems apparently.

xlaleclx, are you using Offset mode for CPU voltage ?

Nope. constant voltage.

Also, as I said... I've run Prime 95 for 12 hours and then several hours at a time on a few other occasions.

Does that mean Manual Voltage mode ? If so, it may be low, give a little more voltage.

I disabled CPU spread spectrum and all of the power saving features. (As you can tell I'm very new to overclocking)
I'll see how it runs now.

So, this morning I boot up my computer and as soon as power gets to the motherboard it restarts and keeps doing this over and over rapidly restarting until I disconnect the power from the PSU.
So I think this confirms my suspicions of it being the power supply. I left it unplugged for a while and then tried again and when I got it to POST it said my overclock was bad, so I set it to default and I was able to boot.

Anyone ever seen anything like that before?
