Be sure that when you solder everything , that you can take it back off again for clearcoating.
Or else the copper will go very ugly-brown-ish...
I made a desk out of red and yellow copper , when i tested the materials for oxidising ,
only after 2 weeks i started to get green/dark brown spots on the plating.
And that's only where i held the copper.
The acids/bacteria and salt on your hands and sweat will kill the looks very fast!
I clearcoated my entire table , no problems whatsoever...

Thanks for the advice! +rep for you. From what you say, I think that when it comes time, I will have to dawn the rubber gloves for this. I will be sanding these pipes before soldering, and since I'm not holding any ridiculous pressure, I can do just some light soldering so that none of the solder really shows outside of the fitting cups. Then I will polish them like I just did my waterblocks. I had some massive tarnish issues, but used 3M Rubbing Compound for buffing cars, along with a felt wheel on my dremel, and brought them to a mirror finish. Hopefully I can get the same finish with the tubing before sealing it with paint.

Polished and clearcoated desk :

Latex gloves really avoid getting dark spots on polished copper.
I have one , dark (brown) spot on my tabletop , on the upper right corner.
thank god you can't see it.
But i have to keep it in sight , because this will probably continue to expand.

And thx for the rep smile.gif

Subbing for this. I love copper tubing in builds and in fact hope to do one in the next year or two when finances and the gf allow me to lol.

Does the surface stay cool? I think that table looks amazing and for that price it's worth more IMO.

Some people like it allot, some (like my mother for example) think it's hideous :-)
This was a first for me to, but allot more will follow :-)

And the top stays really cool, but it's copper...
I takes heat/cold very easily, so it's about -4,-5 degrees Celcius under the room temperature.
Witch i think is perfect.
