New monitor and GPU

Thread Starter
Hi guys I got my rig I'm sure of all things now, besides the monitor and GPU.
I'm leaning towards the IPS monitors for gaming simply because of better graphics, ~50fps on 1440p quality on IPS panel seems quite beastly to me.
The "smoothness" of a 120hz monitor seems kind of "overkill" to me. I mean sure It might be smoother by a little margin or so but I think 60 fps will be just fine, it isn't choppy at all I think.
Problem is I haven't got a clue wich IPS monitor and GPU to get. Size does not matter, money doesn't matter but I don't want a 30 inch one because my desk is just too small for that one.
I was thinking of the Dell UltraSharp U2711 what do you guys think of this one?
Do pay attention to the response time and input lag.
As for GPU, haven't got a clue so help me out here guys, I am very pleased with the feedback I get on this site, very friendly people and all so thumb.gif.
For extra information.. I play games like Skyrim, League of Legends, Battlefield 3, GW3, Hitman Absolution, Dark souls and all the good stuff. Mostly heavy hardware demanding games.
Now I plan to game at 1440p or 1600p depending on monitor, I play on a single monitor only (no multi screen setup), and I will throw in some AA, AF but I might max it out or I might not. I will see the effects of it first. So based on that wich GPU do you think is best for me?
Thank you guys in advance for helping!

Well, people tend to want to purchase products that will perform and save the bank so here goes:

Off the top of my head, I'll recommend a Yamasaki Catleap monitor and a 7950.

The monitor is an S-IPS with a 2560x1440p resolution. Check out the Yamasaki Catleap Monitor Club for more details on them.

The GPU I recommended is possibly the best bang for buck card out there, and it will handle that resolution soundly. It's basically a 7970 (same pcb, higher clock speed), so you can expect around the same performance as one while pocketing the difference.
