At most, something midrange like a 5770, or maybe a 7850. Depending how much money I end up with up. I'm making this for my wife to also start playing games with me, but she really likes the smaller slimmer cases so yeah.

Well, besides the been-around-forever Casetronic/Travla/Morex etc. cases, there's the Falcon NW Tiki (though like the X51 only available as complete system). Two cases that fit the bill but may or may not see the light of day anytime soon: the NFC S3, and the Titan ITX case.

In addition to the Morex and Travla/Casetronic cases mentioned earlier, there's the new LGX MK150. It's a short-depth 1.5U rackmount case, but there's no reason you need to mount the rack ears. Pricing is probably overkill for your application, but it might minimize the amount of customization you'll need to do, as it will accommodate a FlexATX PSU, has two PCI slots, and, most importantly, good ventilation in a relatively small form factor.

The front plates are removable as flat pieces, so it would be easy to Dremel/saw any additional holes (more cooling, CD tray, 3.5" bay) you might want.

The Streacom FC10 has two full size horizontal slots, and the case acts as a heatsink. Comes in black or silver.

Don't call it just yet! Not sure if this has been posted but this has support for Flex ATX PSUs (Athena does a 400W Bronze) but only has 1 expansion slot. Though a bit of modding with an ITX board and you can probably fit a dual slot blower type card with a riser card...
