I also had this cutting in and out problem with my Logitech g5, but got it replaced for free within the week. The next time it happened was 5 years later after the mouse became worn out and multiple retaping the braided cord after it frayed. But this didn't stop me from getting another Logitech mouse.

The DA is a solid mouse but it broke after 3 years and now I use the g400 (my favorite shape, personal preference).
I find shape the biggest factor when choosing a mouse, so try testing out the mice at a store. You can't go wrong with either mouse.
