win7 x64 boot on 4tb raid

Guys, I've searched for this and cannto find an answer.

I have the MSI Z77-G45 mobo which supports UEFI.
I have a rocketraid 4320 which support drives over 2tb and have created an array 4tb in size.
I used diskpart to convert to GPT.
Windows Install then errors out with a generic error message.

I want to have one drive bootable with win7.

Any ideas?

I am not 100% sure if this makes a difference but I think you need to boot EFI to install windows on partitions on partitions over 2TB.

Yes, I loaded the latest driver during the windows install. It sees the whole array. It just doesn't want to install. I am guessing the problem is in using diskpart.
I used diskpart to convert to gpt. Do i need to do anything after that; Create volumes? Assign drive letter? Format? Thanks guys!

Are you installing with a USB or Disc?

I have all the steps on installing on a GPT drive here: www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds

Okay, I followed the guide and double-checked myself a couple times. When I click on the third partition it says it cannot install. The details read as follows:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GOT partition style.
Windows cannot be installed tot his disk. The computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

I am using a rocketraid 2430 on an MSI Z77A-G45

Any thoughts?

Are you booting the USB or install Disc with the UEFI option? If you are installing form a USB did you do the second part with the special file?

Idk if it could be that the controller is the issue, though I doubt it.

USB.
I created an install with RT7 to incude the RAID driver. I put in on the USB Drive and made the modifications you listed for the efi\boot directory, including the file from install.wim.
The USB drive boots fine and I see the drive listed. I then hit Shift+F10 and do the manual partitioning (I've also tried automatic).
And the result is that the third partition will nto allow install because of GPT style.
The only "hiccup" I've run into is in the creation of the EFI partition. The size "100" was too small to format, so I changed it to 500.

Any thoughts?

100MB for the EFI partition is not too small to format...I've done it myself over 20 times.

The one thing is that you may be booting teh USB wrong, you need to make sure you are booting the option for the USB that has the UEFI prefix then the name of your drive, if not you get the can not install on GPT drive error. Also, if you are booting it rightly, the USB should have been formatted to FAT32 before you made it. If not that can give you the issue as well.

Start over and if possible try using an install disc instead of a USB.
