I recommend the Steelseries SX. It's not cheap but the quality is very good and should last for a very long time.

I use a Razer Copperhead with a Steelseries Limited Edition Aion mat (I eventually got it from Game though it took them a return and three weeks to get it). Glides pretty nicely across that and it's machine washable too. I actually removed my feet (from my mouse) personally. I think they're better without them. You could probably order some more from Razer.

Seems like a good mat. If it wasn't for the AION design. I am a bit weird like that i guess i'd rather it be plain black. Also never thought of removing the feet. I guess just not possible with the mat i'm using now due to the scratches. Will definitely try that first when i get a new one and see what it's like smile.gif I emailed Razer about feet too but got no reply. Strange because i've had good experience with them before getting an RMA on a faulty mouse/keyboard before.

Speed mat would be something really really sensitive.

This seems to ore what i am looking for. How is the aluminum surface though? I'm worried about it scratching too. Though the SX is cheaper than the exact mat so if it lasted longer i wouldn't mind replacing it. Current mat only lasts about 3/4 months before it starts becoming annoying to use. Have gone through quite a few already.

I would have thought they do similar mouse mats in a black colour. Check out Amazon or Game's website.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago on impulse from local CompUsa (tiger direct warehouse).

Much better than I expected. I Lots of room and most precise mat I have ever used. I though the little rubber domes to prevent the keyboard from sliding were more of a gimick but they actually do work.. Also sholdn't experience pull up issue as the frame is stiched.

The surface of the SX is smooth. It doesn't feel grainy. Mouse feet will always ware down, but those are easily replaceable and much cheaper than mouse pads. My SX hasn't worn out yet, unlike other plastic pads (ex. fUnc 1030 which I use to love) which quickly develop uneven worn out areas. I've had my SX since late 2010 and it still hasn't worn out.

Steelseries I-2... if you can find one. The plastic mouse mats tend to wear down after a while. But the glass I-2 will last a lifetime. Smooth surface with low resistance too. Surely the number one qualities in mouse mats. Though some people tend to like the feel of cloth.

I use the cloth pads for my laptop but none of them compare to my icemat I use for my desktop. Silky smooth and fast...very low resistance. Works good for my style. Fingertip grip and high dpi so I barely move my mouse.
