Good day. ive been having a huge problem with amd 7970. Perhaps , somebody could suggest something.
here are my specs http://www.imagebam.com/image/e897d2214594161
+cooler Thermalright Silver Arrow, psu ATX 900W Antec HCG-900 High Current Gamer, ActivePFC
-this is the results i get in Furmark test under 99% load when everything works fine http://www.imagebam.com/image/721ff0214596448
- nothing is overclocked
My PC worked fine for 2 months or so(the new one i bought) but then i started having this problem
often video signal just dies and my monitor goes into power saving mode. Mostly during watching movies or playing games. there is a strange buzzing sound coming from headphones(sometimes) when it happens(not the usual one if you have vsync turned off while playing games ) and the last time it happened i heard really loud sound coming from a videocard. it sounded like fans at 100% speed..
What i tried to do:
1) installing fresh drivers
2) going back to the old drivers
3)completely removing AMD video driver files(all of them) not just through running standard catalyst uninstall but using atiman uninstaller latest
4) restoring windows 7 from a backup(the one i made when i installed everything for the first time)
5)changing dvi cabel
temperature is always within limits. I even tried setting fan speed to 50% always so as to have it really low.
Nothing has helped. It can work fine for a day, two, then suddenly it happens. AFter it happens usually i have to turn off my PC and when i restart it upon loggin into windows i might sometimes loose signal again right away. Sometimes it works for hours, sometimes for several days
After that i switched to built-in videocard on my motherboard\processor and it worked fine for a week without a single glitch.
I have no idea what to do. Any ideas?
Whats even more frustrating , even if i send it to the shop where i bought it so that they could check it out , considering that it might work fine for 1-2 days they might find nothing wrong with it..
Should i get a new videocard? Though im not sure how i cna prove to these guys that my videocard is glitchy
