If what people are saying about minimum frameratess is true, then TPU and / or another site needs to do a review to find that out.

More often than not Windows 7 still isn't significantly faster than significantly older versions of Windows that predate WDDM entirely.

On a dual-core, with 3GiB or less memory, using DX9, Windows 2000 probably isn't noticeably different from Windows 8 as far as game performance goes.

No one should expect current games, using current APIs, to benefit significantly from WDDM 1.2. New software or more complex usage scenarios than most encounter when gaming will likely be needed for any differences to really become evident.

Ive noticed better performance with the HD 6990. So far, im happy with windows 8 rtm :)

All depends on the game/program.

Technically you are right, the minimum frame rates SHOULD be higher for Windows 8 (depending on the card), but as other tests has shown, this isn't always the case, and in fact, the opposite is true.

All of nope. Sorry, I've confirmed it myself. Windows 8 has true performance gains over Windows 7. ESPECIALLY noticeable when I am recording in BF3.

I'm going to do some searching now for some info, but does anyone know/remember what the increase in gaming performance was, if any, from Windows 7's service pack (or any other OS's for that matter)? Just wondering what type of improvement we can realistically hope to see from the service packs for W8.
