Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition - Page 97

I have to be honest - I tried both extensively, and I honestly prefer KB+M

In DSM fix enable smoothing, sensitivity way up

Scroll wheel click locks targets - works like a dream!

Awesome game though~

This game rocks!
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I was in the depths, and fell through a hole and got attacked but a bunch of huge frogs that curse me. Now I need to farm 3000 souls and go all the way back to the bell tower to get the damn stone to lift it! Frustrating, but awesome game! thumb.gif

^I dont think its a spoiler, but you can get a purging stone @ the Undead Female Merchant. Her short cut is the door above the entrance to the depths.

Oh, awesome tip! I think she had it for 6000 vs. the dude at the belltower for 3000, but I'd rather farm int he depth to get the stone that go all the way back to the belltower. Thanks!

Endurance stops giving more stanima at 40, so it's usually recommended to not level above that. Resistance is a completely useless stat, you should never put points there. If you mean dex to equip bows, here's the list http://darksouls.wikidot.com/bows

If you die, you will have all your souls and "active" humanity put onto a bloodstain for possible recovery. The humanity and soul items in your inventory will stay.

Tank builds require heavy armor. Heavy armor slows you down and uses alot of stamina. I recommend getting havels ring and the Cloranthy Ring asap. You should be able to get both of these rings very early in the game. Albeit, you'll need to enter blightown and defeat Havel at a very low level. I'm assuming you picked the master key as the gift. * you can also obtain the Ring of Favor.

ou boy i am just writing down stuff, and all 3 items are pretty close to each other

Havel's Ring - in tower
Grass Crest Shield - guarded by black knight with halberd lol
Black Knight Halberd - as stated above smile.gif

i guess i will first get myself black knight sword in undeadburg and then get through gargoyles to Crestfallen merchant at Sens fortress, to buy steel armor set and Tower Shield

for better drops do i have to have used 10 humanities or just to have in inventory over 10 humanity items for usage?
i guess i will have to buy master key at shop to be able to open the doors at havel to enter to darkroot basin

thank you

You can use humanity to increase your 'item discovery'. The higher the item discovery number, the better odds of the drop when you kill an enemy. If you die and dont recovery your blood stain, you lose it. Best way though is to get the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring in Sens Fortress. I circled the skull, as im cursed, but thats where the humanity count is shown.

Yeah I went ahead and rekeyed everything to use a keyboard and mouse (DSMfix is a must though) and now it's fine. Having a blast so far.

One the videos I watched a while back before I ever played was a dude making a Gravelord sword run from the catacombs. I figured right when I started attempting such a thing would be a good way to learn the controls. Took me about 8 attempts, but I got it.

I will say, if you do try this try to use it sparingly as it is way more game breaking than even the Drake Sword ( kills black knights at base stats two handed in two to three hits), and is a viable weapon for even the end of the game.

Yeah though, I have to admit I'm hooked. Sadly I missed my window for this to be the game I hibernate with in the winter as it took me forever to figure out how to get it running, and because of this I ignored it all winter. Sigh, If GFWL wasn't such a mess, I wouldnt have been so late to the party. Luckily I'll likely finish it before DS2 is out on the PC.

Anyway if you're on the fence, don't be like me. This game is 100% worth the trouble of trying to get running. Best $5.00 I ever spent on a Steam sale.
