There are plenty of other custom builders with better reputations (Falcon northwest comes to mind), but they're all more expensive.

so do you guys think its a bad idea to buy from cyberpower?

Ironside was a lot more expensive and there werent options for specific brands on the gpus

Oh no, in your situation you just have to buy from them and hope to not get screwed on warranty, unannounced 'replacements' or 'upgrades', or that kind of thing. Everything will... probably... be fine.

P.S. Specific brands on GPUs shouldn't really matter, particularly if you pay more for a specific one. They'll all the same type of GPU, after all.

There's really only 3 options, listed in order of least expensive to most expensive, each option a pretty big jump:
1) Build yourself, and (if necessary) deal with warranties part by part.
2) Buy from a cheap custom site like cyperpowerpc and deal with terrible customer service and a single warranty provider.
3) Buy from an expensive custom site like Falcon Northwest and have great customer service from a single warranty provider.

The problem, of course, is that each option is literally a few hundred more dollars than the next one. So, yeah, we're telling you there's a fair chance cyberpowerpc is going to screw you over some way. But what choice is there? #1 is excluded from contention and your friend doesn't really have the budget for #3.

im debating dropping the quality of the computer to have it built by a reliable place you know?

the last thing i want to do is waste $1500 of my friends money, that would be bad..

I told you it was a few hundred dollars more expensive to go reputable, didn't I? Did you think that wouldn't take the oomph out of the GPU? You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to guarantee years of good service, pay through the nose for it (meaning get a crappier computer). If you don't, go with cyperpowerpc. There's a reason we all build our own here. We get a much better computer for cheaper, and all the parts are still (individually) covered by warranty.

There's not any reason to /facedesk here.
