Video card for 24" monitor

Thread Starter
Just bought a Dell 24" monitor and run it at max (1920x1200 I think.) The video card is a 6600 in an AGP slot with 128mb memory. When using applications like Gooogle Earth there is "tearing"of the images as they move accros the screen. I haven't tried games but am planning to use Flight Simulator in the near future.

My pc has a 4800 x2 at stock speeds (no oc) and 2 gb memory and, as already indicated an AGP slot.

With this in mind, what video card would you recommend to make the above-mentioned applications and maybe a basic adveture game (Myst/Riven etc) run reasonably smooth?

Thanks....Curt

I would try updating your drivers first. Visit www.nvidia.com.

If you want to play the newest flight sim, i would suggest the x1950 pro coing out for agp soon (im assuming you don't have pci-e)

Didn't think aboutthe drivers. Will give that a try.

Any idea when the 1950 agp card will come out?

Thanks...Curt
