Will these parts all work together? - Page 2

Yeah, 8 meters is more than enough. Both of my sig rigs use ~1m each...

Glad you changed the fittings, they are a lot better. Just so you know, you now have 7 spare fittings (assuming you can use all the 90° ones).

I don't know if you have discovered this yet, but finding distilled water in the UK can be a pain; I managed to order some from a local pharmacy. Eventually I resorted to buying a 5L bottle of Mayhems Ultra Pure water - the shipping wasn't too bad and it saved me a lot of time.

You can use DI water from Halfords, it is fine.

How much can you get?

My rigs take around 1L per fill

A fairly large system can take ~2L. Obviously this is very rough - the amount of tubing, size of res, number of blocks etc. will all affect this.

If it is cheap (which it should be) try to get about 5L, this will give you extra for cleaning and a refill if you stuff something up or there is a leak.

My bad, i was looking at De-ionized water not distilled, i can find distilled but its £20 per 5l..
Would De-ionized water be okay? i can get 5l for £4 from the shop down the street smile.gif
Oh and do i need to flush my parts when they arrive? or should they be ok without doing that? because if i do have to do that i will get a few 5L bottles.

EDIT: this is the deionized water i was talking about: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_165335_langId_-1_categoryId_255205

You do need to flush your parts but you don't need to use distilled water for it.

You can flush your blocks, res and pumps with tap water, then a final rinse with distilled / DI.

You can clean your rads with a hot tap water / white vinegar mix.

  1. Pour it in, cap the rad and shake like crazy. Remember that the rad will get as hot as the liquid you put in it, you may want to use a towel to hold it.
  2. Pour out into a clean white bowl and see if there is any sediment / colour.
  3. Repeat until the liquid comes out clean.
  4. Do a couple of rinses with tap water to get rid of any vinegar, then a final rinse with distilled / DI.

I know this might sound like a bit of a pain but it saves a lot of problems down the line.
