Ok I have a good working R22 window unit. Now this unit is 5300btu with R22 an this samsung compressor 44C050HU1KA. I do A/C work an have what is needed to convert minus ss evap. Will this compressor be enough for a ss setup an is R22 ok to use or do I need another refrigerant? Thanks.

That compressor is more then enough for a SS, typically you need for a full build
- Compressor
- Suitable sized condenser
- Evaporator head ( Little Devil sells these )
- Filter
- Appropriate sized accumulator
Not sure on R22 but in SS world everyone tends to use R507 in pretty much every build, including those that use rotary compressors.
This is pretty much what a beefy SS build looks like that uses a big rotary

A strong SS should get you in the neighborhood of -35°C or so with the chip highly overclocked.

That's actually not that big of a compressor. Rotarys have much smaller displacements than reciprocating, that maybe under 9cc's.
R22 is not preferable due to its high discharge temperature and wear on the compressor if run in low back pressure applications.
Luckily R507a can often be a great substitute.

That compressor is most likely 7.5cc and is capable of around 225-250w @ -20c with a good evap. If your benching then I'd recommend going with a much larger compressor. That large a/c condenser can easily handle up to 1hp. Look for a 3/4-1hp (13-19cc) Matsu$hita rotary.
R22 does have higher discharge temps but can be avoided in our small systems with proper design and tune. I've had nothing but outstanding results with it myself, unfortunately it's now banned for use in new production units. For a bencher though I'd recommend r507 + 5% r290 for oil miscibility.
