considering picking up a cheap gpu to help boost boinc performance. no gaming what so ever involved. purely a compute gpu. both are about $80, both passively cooled. which one wins? running debian linux and will be using open source drivers only also, I have heard that amds gcn does very well in compute things. how much better would a 7750 be to one of these? worth another $20 (please don't suggest I go higher then that, I have no money and this is not a card for gaming) any other suggests need to be dead/neardead silent. the noise keeps my up at night. figure on the rep button smile.gif

Get a HD 7750. Its a much better card for just 20 bucks extra.

HD 7750 (800 Mhz) with HD 6670

wow a 7750 is on par with a 6870 in compute? impressive. knew it would be better but didn't expect the difference to be so massive. maybe I'll wait to see If I can get that other 20
