Man patience like that is really hard to come by! Awesome job so far yessir.gif

Noticed that a few of the unbent bins need to be tweaked a wee bit more:

Yes! As someone suggested earlier try and use a credit card and practice your swiping skills once you've done rolleyes.gif
Going to +rep whoever said that as it's a great idea!

As for pulling the CPU out.. Done it before to a friend 965BE. Was putting a Hyper 212+ on and I was shaking and he was like "isn't that supposed to happen?"

I was like "err, umm not really" and luckily no bent pins and it posted biggrin.gif

Good luck to the OP thumb.gif

EDIT: Also sometimes CPU's can work with a pin or two missing.. You might be in luck. I had a P4 that worked with a pin missing/bent

yeah, the credit card trick i use at the very end to align all the pins, as it it sometimes hard to do it on a pin to pin basis.

as far as the pins go that i have fixed; thats about as straight as i will go, until the rest are done. then i am going to socket test it, as i do not want to bend the pins unncecessarily, because they are pretty fragile at this point.

I had a golden 965 that did 4.3ghz @ 1.43v 24 hour prime stable. It was easily the best 965 or even Deneb chip I have seen on any forum. I had to take it out of my rig and because it was water cooled, I left it upright so not to disturb the water cooling. So you can imagine what happened when I undid the latch and for some reason I never thought of it falling out, 3 feet down onto tiles doh.gif It bounced a few times and bent quit a few pins. Luckily I was able to straighten the pins and it still clocked like a beast, but I nearly cried when I saw it bouncing along those tiles.

Hope the repair goes well for you smile.gif

I accidently ripped a Pentium 4-HT out of a Dell (thanks to their terrible cooling solution) probably a year ago, and bent some pins. I fixed it, with a credit card and a lot of patience! That was only 10-15 pins at the most. I can't imagine having to fix 200 pins, so can't wait to hear the final results.
