External aesthetics is a major factor to me as well. Still thinking about leaving my TJ07 to head to the 900D. Going to hold off on finishing modding my TJ07 to see the final specs on this behemoth.

I put my 800D build on hold as well because it would be pointless to continue esp since i was so late to the 800D game.

I think we all will be ecstatic when the specs are released and i look forward to filling this beast with tons of hardware.

I know, I bought my TJ07 2 months ago and promptly ordered a bunch of ColdZero parts for it. While they are indeed awesome, I still have another ~300 I want to put into it to get the case where I want. For that amount I might as well just upgrade.

Now to convince the wife to let me will be the biggest hurdle.

I have several coldzero parts as well that i guess i have to sell with the 800D now minus custom VGA back plates.

LOL and i don't have a wife so fortunately i can just spend with out any backlash.

I wish Corsair would release a 900D-style case with a more rounded 600T aesthetic. Not a big fan of plain square shapes personally...

Not interested in a $400 Corsair. Just being honest.

I'm not as brand sensitive as others. For some people, if Corsair makes it, than it's a must buy.
A $350 or less 900D, and I'm open for discussion. At $300, I will just ask George how would he like his cash.

This I agree with.

Not if you want to use a power supply. Thats going to block at least two of the spots on the top or bottom. Also if you do plan on having a 480 or any rad on the bottom it looks like it'll block the bottom slot on the front of the case. So to me it looks like you can fit a 480 on the top and a 360 in front.

I don't like bottom mounted rads. They just suck up dust but if you do plan on using that its a 480 on top and two 240s. Thats a far cry from what the 900D will hold.

Also I like having my pumps on the floor of the case which that 240 would block. It would also force me to use a smaller tube res while also making plumbing a pita.

So for practicality sake the SM8 fits a 420 or 480 and a 360.

I would like to hear any 1's potential hardware plans who have an interest in this case ?

I am currently using 2 XSPC EX360 rads -

crossflow 360

multiport 360

I am planning on running 2 XSPC AX480 rads -

Top - AX480

Bottom - AX480

George posted it will have 3 intake fans in the front + its pre drilled for rad support so maybe i can use my EX360 multi port there as well for kicks/or 3 Corsair AF120 quiet edition fans(I already own 2).

Everything else will transfer over from my 800D build so it should be easy transitioning.

Are you guy seriously comparing the SM8 to the 900d?

The SM8 is a mid tower, the 900d is an ultra tower.
CaseLabs is releasing a PSU holder to mount it behind the 5.25" Bays:

In this config, either two 480s or one 480+2x360 are possible. Flexibility.

But let me be fair to both CaseLabs and Corsair.

The SM8 isn't the 900Ds equal, the SMH10 is it's equal. But in a and lighter and smaller foot print, the SM8 has just as much cooling potential as the 900D. Having the ability to mount rads anywhere is the core feature of the 900D and SM8.

The 900D will be $200-300 less than the SMH10, making it an excellent buy.
