Too bad Corsair didn't ditch the bay cage, but that probably would've decreased the rigidity of the case too much. Not having that bulky thing in the way is a godsend with caselabs cases.

I actually don't know how to mod, partly because I prefer to keep my cases stock for resale, and also because it's extremely difficult and expensive to get modding equipment and supplies locally.
I'm just asking this stuff out of curiosity as none of these things are deal breakers to me. It's just that there's still a lot we don't know about this case and it's hard to plan without knowing all the details.
Really can't wait for some in-depth reviews of this beast, and looking forward to building a rig inside one.

I agree with you, as I had to come up with a clever way to mount a 480, 80MM thick rad in push pull in my switch. But there are very few cases at the this price range that can mount a 480 without wondering how to get it in.

Making it removable means you have to add a lot more structure inside the case, and replace the stiffness the MBD tray adds with braces and brackets. It adds a lot of cost to the design, and to be honest, when putting a case together, can add MORE time to the build.

If you spend a lot of time on cable routing and such, a removable motherboard tray is a huge pain. Especially when putting cables through the motherboard tray's rubber grommets.

I realize that there are fans of the removable tray still, and that's cool, but my goal is to design the case so it's easy to work in, with room for cable routing and all that stuff.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree - that's cool cool.gif but now that I have a case with a removable MB tray, I doubt I would ever go back. It's just too nice to have everything out in the open when you're working instead of constantly moving a heavy case around. I understand what you're saying about cost. I'm guessing it's one of the reasons Case Labs uses aluminum: light weight with a lot of structural integrity. My M10 is beastly strong and amazingly light. I have even used it as a step stool redface.gif Their flex-bay system is pretty cool. Now that I understand how it works, I wonder why more manufacturers don't do something similar. Anyway, no one case can make everyone happy, so it's good to have choices. smile.gif Good luck cheers.gif

It should. I have a Monsta 360 in "push/pull" mode in my Switch 810 Pedestal and since the 900D is even wider than that, there should be no issue at all.

I can fit a 2 RX360 radiators in a "push/rad/pull/rad/pull" configuration ... or 2 RS360 radiators in a "push/rad/pull gap push/rad/pull" configuration .... so depending on how much wider the 900D is over the Switch 810, it *MIGHT* be very possible to put an RX480 and RX240, both in "push/pull" in the bottom.

But George will have to come up with exact width numbers for that.

Here is a couple of pictures of a Monsta 360 (the Monsta 480 is just a little longer) in "push/pull" mode in a narrower case. As you can see, 1 will EASILY fit.

Yes, even with that massive radiator, 6 fans, 2 pumps, and a reservoir, this pedestal still hold is all.

Thanks for the answer. It seems like monsta480 push/pull and corsair AX1200 will fit.

This will be my next case, no doubt! I will shove it full of radiators biggrin.gif Great job George and Corsair, and a great price on top of that!

I would also be interested in a white version of the case, if done properly it would look sexy both in black and white smile.gif

I understand this might impede airflow, but that could be alleviated by using spacers I guess.

No. The hard drive weight would be too great for the fan's plastic housing and four screws alone to bear. The screws would have to go through case steel, then the fan, and then the hard drive cage. The combination of the weight of three mechanical drives, the cage and trays, and the fact that it's on the far side of the screw mounting it to the case would cause lots of problems.

The drive cages have to be mounted to the chassis in one of the five pre-chosen locations.

Also:

1. With a 360 rad in the front, how would the barbs be placed? Top or bottom? Top placement appears a bit tight from the pictures, as most rads need 1-1.5 inches for the barbs.

If you mount a 360 in front, the fans fit on the outside of the case and the rad fits on the inside with the barbs on bottom. This takes up the front bottom fan mounts on each side, so you'd infringe on your 480 mount locations. However, you can mount a front 240 and fans OUTSIDE the case completely without infringing on the 480 spots.

2. Can the 2 middle drive cages in the lower compartment be used with an AX1200 inside? From the Linus video I would guess yes, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Any PSU over 180mm long will take up that third hdd cage mount location in the bottom, but you'll still be able to use the front two.

3. The website says there are four removable dust filter, knowing that there's one on the front, and 2 on the bottom compartment, am I right in assuming that the fourth one is on the top? Because that is amazing! Most case manufacturers seem to ignore people who want to use the top as an intake for positive air pressure.

Yep, top has a dust filter built in.

4. Are the tool-free 5.25 latches removable without breaking them?

Very easily.
