if the Master Freez post about the info of the case was on the very first post ... it would be alot easier than to read from page 1 to 171 just to know the dimensions of the case lol or radiator stuff

Guys, this is purely insane thread with a lot of questions and people, who don't want to read all previous posts, so here is...

Obsidian 900D Full Specs and WaterCooling FAQ

Release date: according to 11.01.2013:

US: Late Febrary 2013

EU: 14-21 march 2013 due to 2-3 weeks from first sales.

Cost in US: ~ 350$

Space, features and flexibility:

Dimensions (from the leaked info): 655 x 694 x 251 mm (25.7 x 27.32 x 9.88 inch)

4x 5.25 bays with toolless mounting mechanism (5x but top bay is the USB ports and buttons)

2x USB 3.0 ports and 4x USB 2.0 ports + mic and audio 3,5 jacks in the top 5.25 bay

5.25 bays are centered behind the wide slot covers

10x PCI slots (up to QUAD-SLI or QUAD-Crossfire)

9x HDD\SSD slots at stock in 3 toolless hot-swap cages (15 with 180 mm PSU and 2x additional HDD cages, each probably will cost 20$)

up to 3 HDD cages at the bottom (with 180 mm PSU\PSU's or 2 cages with 360 front rad)

up to 2x 1200w (or FANLESS) 180 mm PSUs (Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200W) with 15 HDD's in the case at the same time

up to 2x 1200w 200 mm PSU's (Corsair AX1200\AX1200i) with 2x 240 rads at the bottom.

XL-ATX and HPTX compatibility (up to Rampage 4 Extreme or EVGA SR-X)

All HDD cages have holes for fans on both sides (push-pull, like in 400-500R and C70)

8x big grommeted cable holes in mb tray

9x open cable holes in mb tray

3x clickable big and strong cable holders (latches) at the back (like in C70 case)

2x bottom mesh side panels covers

PSU cables hole is under the MB tray

Dual PSU's at the bottom

Max PSU length: any (180 mm with 15 HDD's)

Max CPU cooler height: any

Max GPU lenght: any

4x dust filters: clickable like in 650D at the front and the top, two magnetic like in 550D inside cast at the mesh side panels

2 side panels with the window and 2 side panels with the mesh for airflow to the cages\radiators & PSU's

~1.25 inch (~30 mm) space for cables behind motherboard tray

Removable brushed aluminum front panel with open airflow on the sides

Window is shortly centered and with straight view cutting part of GPU"s and motherboard

Reset button is located behind the top 5.25 bay cover

The power button is a small horizontal bar in the top section of the I/O panel. The power and HDD LED are stealthed inside that power button.

Top of the case look like we can put two led stripes at the top: in front of the radiator and behind, that will light up even the ram sticks.

Looks like that top left corner with dots is a place for a push to open panel.

All side panels can be opened just by pressing one button for each.

Radiators & WaterCooling:

Here is maximum practical and theoretical capacities before the case review and release

4x120 mm (480) or 3x140 (420) 60 mm thick in push-pull at the top (first 5.25 bay will be mostly closed by radiator, fits 47 mm rad in push-pull and leaves ~10 mm space or more)

4x120 mm (480) or 3x140 (420) 60 mm thick in push-pull (maybe) at the bottom (with only one PSU)

2x120 mm (240) or 2x 140 (280) 60 mm thick in push or pull at the bottom behind the 480\420 (depends on PSU lengh)

3x120 mm (360) 60 mm thick rad in push-pull at the front (recommended by measurments and only with 360 at the bottom, also without 3 HDD cages at the front and HTPX will fit same time)

about [240\280\480\420 "Monsta" 80 mm thick rads]: probably possible to fit with push or pull at the top, same config at the bottom + monsta 240\280 behind with push or pull. At the front will fit with push-pull but might be problem with bottom rads due to 6 ports and stop plugs (fittings) at the bottom side (it might prevent mounting). Don't try it before somebody will test or measure.

Bottom radiators could be mounted (according to the photos) only with fittings on the left side (to the psu's)

Maximum cylindrical reservoir capacity: 250 ml (almost same height as the 7 PCi-E slot motherboard)

Inlcuded:

3x HDD cages

10x PCI slot covers

4x 5.25 slot covers

2x bottom mesh side panels covers

1x PSU hole cover

3x front intake 120 mm fans (AF120L)

1x 140 mm rear exhaust fan (AF140L)

all black cables for the motherboard and USB porst

First video with the case from CES 2013 with George Makris from Cosair & Linus Sebastian from NCIX

Thanks to Corsair and George Makris personally

This should really be the first post of the thread, jeezus. No offense to thread starter but you're doing a horrible job with this thread.

I think the case should be slightly taller, a XSPC RX480 Radiator or Black Ice GTX 480 Radiator cannot be fitted in push-pull with GentleTyphoon 120 mm, just clearing the 100m fit by 4 - 8.5mm :S

Also george could I hide a 5.25" bay device in one of the HDD docks?

I think the major outstanding question for me is ...

Is the distance from the edge of the motherboard to the roof 110mm or 111mm?

If not, can George see about having a second set of motherboard stand-off holes put so that a standard 7-slot motherboard can be shifted down 3 slots (since this is a 10-slot case) to that an extra 30-50mm can be put between the roof and the motherboard?

If the answer to either of these is "Yes", the this case will be just about PERFECT in my opinion for maximum water cooling versatility.

Wow i never though about that feature. Shifting the MB down since most of us use ATX form factor most of the time. In my Switch built the bottom 2 lanes are waisted.
