[MC/Corsair] Corsair 900D "Godzilla" unveiled - Page 186

Is the distance from the edge of the motherboard to the roof 110mm or 111mm?

If not, can George see about having a second set of motherboard stand-off holes put so that a standard 7-slot motherboard can be shifted down 3 slots (since this is a 10-slot case) to that an extra 30-50mm can be put between the roof and the motherboard?

If the answer to either of these is "Yes", the this case will be just about PERFECT in my opinion for maximum water cooling versatility.

what about lining up the I/O? there would be a gap at the top of it no? biggrin.gif

True. I didn't think of that.

But just looking at my older Asus mobo, there is a good 20-25mm of space to the right of the last port on the I/O port panel. It *might* work for some motherboards, and it might take just not using the standard I/O insert, but it's possible. Even if it you shift it just 1 slot, it might be just enough to allow an RX480 in "push/pull". You might have to either go without the I/O insert at all, or just fab your own.

On my GA-Z77Z-UP7 motherboard, there is next to no extra space, so in order to drop it down a slot or three, I'd have to break out the dremel and hack the lower part of the first slot or three.

That is, unless Corsair would offer an after market rear panel for doing just this.

It's possible, it's just a matter of if you want to hack up the case yourself or if Corsair will offer an option for a reasonable charge. Heck, even if they charged $50 to $100 for that option, I'd SERIOUSLY consider it ... to have it look nice and be able to put any 480 radiator I want in "push/pull" up stairs.
GUYS and 47 Knucklehead Look to the photos: there is EK 47 mm thick radiator with push-pull and about 10 mm of space to mb same time AT LEAST.

So 60 mm rad in push will fit and SHOULD fit with push-pull also.

I think i said it about 3 times already biggrin.gif

Am i wrong? Look and answer...

If you're worried about space on top w/ push/pull on the 55-60mm thick rads, use one of these:

Simple and elegant solution to relocate one set of fans on top. I used one of these for this same reason on my 800D with the RX480 (and RX360) on top. This would probably help with the, ahem, Monsta rads too biggrin.gif

Will NOT work: there is the mesh panel at the top. Also i'm more then happy how 900D constructed and looks even on the "paper"

I agree with that. I asked the thread starter about it and he said no because it's not "official" information.

@George, horizontal bracket for HDD cages (at the first cage from the bottom) is removable or not? Thanks!

Not removable.

Also - if you want to make it official send me a list of the question/answer stuff and I'll verify it all.

Keep an open mind mate wink.gif. Modders/enthusiast find ways wink.gif.

I know you love the 900D but that won't stop ppl from "making it their own". the top is flat, that's all one needs really for the shroud smile.gif.

edit: the shroud looks like its not part of the structure so it can be easily removed. If I had the opportunity, I would definitely get one and take the mesh off (since I won't need the look tbh) and add this bad boy shroud to stuff a monsta on top. Yeah, I said stuff some monstas in it thumb.gif

I have two cases for an upgrade and one of them is 900D) So i'm in this thread. It's ...maybe nice idead with the shroud but most cases will fit only 60 mm rads. You wanna stuck in the future with 86 mm Monstas? I'm not! So it's easier and better to work with things you have. Just put 60 mm rads and be happy! Don't need them any more? New case? Sell them! Everybody could use them.
