The 800D was built for watercooling mate, the 900D will be likely the same.

There are many "built for watercooling cases" out there, which have much better airflow.

800D's issue was the huge pressure gap due to it's limited zone based cooling and intake options.

Granted I never did try to run air cooled SLI/TRI SLI setup in an 800d, but I did run a 6990 and it worked fine for me. All I really did to modify the airflow was curve a piece of plastic from the packaging of a sycthe ap-13 so that the air intake fan curved into the center fan of the 6990. I also added a fan directly on the bottom of the case, not outside, it fit perfectly on the bottom level.

More importantly, the 800D was launched at a time when 300W video cards weren't really the norm.

Today is quite different, with GTX 480, GTX 580, and GTX 690 out there, as well as a history of dual GPU cards from AMD, too. And since Crossfire and SLI has been made much more useful, power requirements of high-end systems have gone up, as have cooling requirements.

We'd be stupid not to address one of the main complaints about the 800D.

As for the comment about wheels, the 800D was designed to be used in one place, like a TV or a microwave. If you want to take it to LAN parties, you can, but you'd better have a strong back.

None of the Obsidian cases are designed to be ultra-portable or something. That's more Carbide/Vengeance line. Even the Graphite line has a kind of built-in handle on the front and back lips.

The Obsidian series is designed to look like a big black monolith that stands ominously in the corner of a room, quietly and reliably computing. Thinking. Judging. Learning. Plotting.

Where the hell was I 15 hours ago! I would definitely love to get in on any Corsair testing George! Hell, my last rig was actually Corsair-themed! biggrin.gif
post #298 of 5815
Oo a Corsair beta program, that'd be something to get in on seeing as I have lots of feedback to give considering the amount of product failures I get.

Big is fine for some, but does Corsair have plans to enter the SFF market? I have the 550D and love it, but every so often I look at Shuttle and I really like them.
